Nikah Outfit & Keepsake Checklist

For a nikah, plan three things: the outfit, the nikah dupatta, and a keepsake book and pen for the signing. Silkara's accessories include an embroidered nikah dupatta set with a signing book and pen, and a nikah keepsake book with a matching pen, alongside bridal outfits.

What do I need for a nikah?

  1. The outfit

Choose a gharara, lehenga, frock or festive suit and check its sizes. See bridal and formal wear and embroidered suits.

  2. The nikah dupatta

A dupatta chosen for the ceremony. See the accessories collection.

  3. The keepsake book and pen

A nikah book and pen to keep from the day. It is a keepsake, and does not replace any official paperwork your officiant or registrar requires.

  4. The fit

Adjustments to length, sleeve length and bust are free. Send your measurements on WhatsApp or book a fitting in Doha.

  5. The timing

Share your nikah date when you message us, so delivery and any adjustments can be confirmed.

What is a nikah dupatta?

A nikah dupatta is the dupatta worn for the ceremony, often sheer and embroidered. Silkara's embroidered nikah dupatta is sheer net with calligraphic inscriptions such as "Qabool Hai" ("I accept"), and it comes as a set with a nikah signing book and pen.

Accessories have no size, so there is nothing to measure. They arrive in gift packaging.

What is a nikah keepsake book and pen?

The nikah contract book is a keepsake for the day of the signing. Silkara's version comes in gold and silver leafing, with a matching pen.

Which keepsake should I choose?

The embroidered nikah dupatta set is the one-stop option: a dupatta, a signing book and a pen in one set. The nikah keepsake book is the choice if you already have a dupatta and want the book and a matching pen on their own. Either way, accessories arrive in gift packaging, so they also work as a gift for the couple.

Which outfit should I wear to my nikah?

There is no single rule, and families differ. Softer shades and a lighter dupatta are a common choice for the ceremony, with the heavier outfit often kept for the barat. The catalog includes gharara suits, lehengas, flared frocks and embroidered 3-piece suits. The bridal guide explains each silhouette.

Can I try the outfit on before the nikah?

Yes, by appointment. Fittings take place at the boutique in Building 70, Street 1306, Zone 56, Doha, and you can book on WhatsApp. Adjustments to length, sleeve length and bust are free, and the piece is adjusted in the atelier before delivery.

If you order a standard size (S, M, L, XL), an unworn piece can be exchanged within 7 days of delivery, with tags and the original box. A custom-size piece cannot be returned, but it is adjusted for free until it fits, so check your measurements before the day. See alterations and returns.

How do I order the outfit and keepsakes together?

Add the outfit and the accessories to one bag and send it as a single WhatsApp message. Silkara confirms the order there, and you pay by payment link or bank transfer, or cash on delivery in Qatar. Delivery takes 24 to 48 hours in Qatar and is free on orders over QAR 500 (QAR 35 below that).
