Pakistani Suits in Doha: A Buyer's Guide

A Pakistani suit is usually a 3-piece set: a kameez (tunic), trousers and a dupatta (scarf). Silkara in Doha sells embroidered 3-piece suits in lawn, cotton, chiffon, organza and shisha silk, mostly in S to XL or a custom size, with free alterations to length, sleeves and bust.

What comes in a Pakistani 3-piece suit?

A 3-piece suit is a coordinated set. The three parts are designed to be worn together.

  • Kameez

The long tunic or shirt. It usually carries the most embroidery, at the neckline, sleeves and hem.

  • Trousers

Straight trousers, a wide-leg palazzo or a shalwar, cut to suit the kameez.

  • Dupatta

The scarf, draped over the shoulders or head. It can be plain, printed or embroidered, and several of our suits pair a lighter chiffon or organza dupatta with a heavier shirt.

Some pieces add a matching embroidered pouch, and a few are 2-piece co-ord sets (a tunic and trousers, no dupatta). The product description says exactly what is included.

Which fabric should I choose?

Each product page names its fabric. These are the fabrics in the current catalog:

  • Lawn

A light, breathable cotton, often printed. Made for daytime and warm weather.

  • Cotton and cotton net

Soft and breathable. Net adds an airy, open texture.

  • Chiffon and georgette

Sheer, light and flowing, good for dupattas and for suits with a soft drape.

  • Organza

Crisp and sheer, with a little body. Often used for dupattas and delicate embroidery.

  • Shisha silk, cotton silk and shamooz silk

Lustrous fabrics that hold heavier embroidery, usually chosen for festive and party suits.
